Airport transfer
Oslo has got one airport - Gardermoen (45 km from the city centre). The fastest way to downtown Oslo is by Flytoget, the shuttle train, which takes you to the city center in 20 minutes. A one-way ticket costs NOK 160. Trains run from 5.35 am to 12.35 am every 10 minutes.
However, the cheapest way how to get to the city centre is to take the regional train that connects the airport with oslo S (the main railway station). The price is NOK 82 and the journey takes about 25 minutes.

 

 

Public transport
Oslo Sporveier (tel: +47 81 50 01 76) runs buses, the subway(metro) and streetcars all over Oslo. A one-hour ticket costs NOK 20 if bought in advance or NOK 30 if bought on board; a 24-hour ticket costs NOK 60. A one-day Oslo Pass, which costs NOK 195, is valid not only for most museums and sights but also for all public transport in Oslo and its surroundings. The pass can be purchased at tourist offices and hotels and is also available for two days (NOK 285) and three days (NOK 375).

Taxis
Either hail a cab on the street or call +47 0 23 23 (Oslo Taxi). Monday to Friday 6 am to 5 pm. The rate is NOK 10.20 per kilometer for the first 10 kilometers and thereafter NOK 12.80. Rates are higher during other periods. Oslo Taxi charges NOK 610 between downtown Oslo and Gardermoen Airport before 5 pm and NOK 720 after. To book an airport cab, call +47 23 23 23 23.

Car and bicycle hire
Bicycles can be rented by the Oslo tourist information centre in front of the main railway station. 24 hour-rent costs NOK 60.
